Logistics terminal

On the road with the computer

Noax has developed a logistics terminal specifically for the needs of warehouse logistics. Based on the C12 series industrial PC, the terminal is designed to meet the requirements of industrial trucks, forklift trucks and sideloaders.

The compact device still leaves enough space for vehicle drivers to work comfortably and safely in their cabs. The twelve-inch screen makes it easy to operate the touchscreen - even when wearing gloves.

According to the manufacturer, permanent exposure to vibration and shocks is no problem for the terminal and refers to the 5M3 S&V certificate. For example, particularly shock-resistant storage media and all other components are installed specifically for this requirement.

Always connected
For smooth data exchange within the company network and efficient coordination of the logistics process, these terminals support the 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN standards as well as both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands. The WLAN antennas are integrated into the front frame. Alternatively, they can be mounted outside the terminal, for example on the roof of the vehicle. If no WLAN is available but data transmission to the company network is still required, Noax offers the option of transmitting data via WWAN, for example UMTS.

The voltage often drops when starting a vehicle, for example. If the computer on the forklift has already started up, this can lead to a sudden shutdown and important data can be lost. To prevent this, the logistics terminals from Noax are equipped with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) that bridges short-term power failures. The integrated UPS can withstand operating temperatures of up to minus 30 degrees Celsius - making it suitable for use in deep-freeze warehouses.

Robust and waterproof
The easily accessible USB port is installed on the front of the terminal and sealed with a completely waterproof rubber cover in accordance with protection class IP65. Even if the cover is lost or not closed properly, neither water nor dirt can get inside the device, according to the manufacturer. The devices are equipped with T-slot rails and Vesa holes, making them easy to attach to industrial trucks, high-rack stackers or other logistics vehicles. The design of the plug area enables the plug cover to be fitted or removed quickly and is easy to service. pb
