Load monitoring system
Continuous communication
Topguard load monitoring system. With the combination of automation and digitalization, Weidmüller provides future-proof Industry 4.0 and IoT solutions. Topguard is a load monitoring system that protects DC loads and communicates via I/O-Link.
In the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT), all components of a production environment are connected to each other via a digital infrastructure and thus become actors themselves. In principle, digital, data-based IoT solutions are based on five core functions: Data collection, processing, communication and analysis as well as operator interaction. This results in new opportunities for generating added value. Weidmüller offers various products for digitalization and intelligent networking from the sensor to the cloud. A new addition to the portfolio is Topguard, a load monitoring system with a communication interface via IO-Link. IO-Link is considered a key technology for implementing Industry 4.0 and IoT concepts.
The communication-capable load monitoring system offers the user remote control options, provides operating data for optimum condition monitoring and offers reliable monitoring and protection of the 24-volt system voltage. This networking between machine, control cabinet and IT system enables new control, monitoring and analysis solutions. Topguard follows the approach of integrated potential distribution, which saves space and time during device installation. Parameterization, control and provision of all operating data are carried out by plugging in the IO-Link module and integrating an IODD file. The communication module can be used for both Protop power supplies and Topguard load monitoring systems.
With the communication-capable load monitoring system, Weidmüller enables machine and system operators to set up new services to optimize and diagnose their processes: Machine data can be converted into added value. In conjunction with the communication module, Topguard sets standards and exploits the potential of Industry 4.0 and IoT. pb
