Pilz expands remote I/O system
New head with Ethernet/IP interface
Pilz is extending its remote I/O system PSSuniversal 2 with a head module with Ethernet/IP interface. PSSuniversal 2 therefore offers the necessary openness for smooth communication in different control environments on an Ethernet basis.
In addition to the new Ethernet/IP head module with CIP Safety, the PSSuniversal 2 remote I/O system already includes a head module with a Profinet Profisafe interface. This openness facilitates data exchange with the various master controllers, regardless of the machine type and existing system environment.
The remote I/O system can be adapted for existing system environments by replacing the head module. Replacing the head module is quick and easy: users save their configuration data locally on a micro SD card. The data can then be transferred to the new head module with Ethernet/IP interface. The I/O modules can be used universally and identically for the various safety protocols.
The PSSuniversal 2, winner of the iF Design Award, is the economical solution for peripheral expansion. The I/O modules can be used universally and identically for the various safety protocols. Thanks to the three-part system structure, the PSS u2 system is very easy to install and service. The sequence of operation is intuitive. The simple handling helps to avoid errors and save the user time, promises Pilz. as
