The automation platform ctrlX Automation from Bosch Rexroth includes software technologies for engineering as well as all PLC and motion tasks. Software functions can be combined in almost any way thanks to ready-made, self-created and customizable apps.
The apps can be created in various programming languages such as C++, scripting languages such as Python or new graphical languages such as Blockly. This opens up completely new degrees of freedom for machine manufacturers. Configuration and commissioning of the automation components is web-based and requires no software installation. The software is programmed within minutes of switching on. The ctrlX-Automation system environment is also available completely virtually, so that programming can also be carried out without hardware. System functionalities can be expanded at any time using your own process functions, apps and open source software. Overall, the platform reduces the engineering effort by 30 to 50 percent. More than 30 direct connection options and communication standards are available for networking from the field level to the cloud, and ctrlX Automation is also prepared for future communication standards such as TSN and 5G. as
