Digitization is the focus at Item. The Solingen-based company has once again expanded its Motiondesigner selection and design software. This online tool now enables reliable calculation of cantilever axes where the carriage is fixed and the linear unit moves instead, for example to perform pick-and-place tasks.
The racks, which are inserted in the profile groove 8 of the boom axis, result in high rigidity, even when used vertically. The motion designer automatically calculates the maximum span that must not be exceeded to ensure fault-free operation. This eliminates the need for time-consuming calculations, which speeds up the design process. As the integration of the cantilever axes results in high positioning accuracy, even complex tasks, for example in the field of 3D printing or for the execution of weld seams, can be configured. The Motionsoft software has also been revised and optimized for commissioning the cantilever axes. Data is transferred directly from Motiondesigner. as
