Mei Dent comes to TeamViewer in Göppingen

TeamViewer, provider of remote connectivity solutions and technologies for the digitalization of work processes, appoints Mei Dent as Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) effective August 31, 2023. She will join CEO Oliver Steil, CFO Michael Wilkens and CCO Peter Turner on the Team Viewer Management Board.

In her role, Mei Dent will be responsible for both the company's general innovation strategy and the specific further development of Team Viewer solutions. In addition, she will lead the areas of product management, solution delivery and research and development globally, including the software development centers in Germany, Austria, Greece and Portugal. The newly created position of CPTO will bundle all technology responsibilities in one board department. Team Viewer is thus underlining the strategic importance of product development and innovation for the company.

Comprehensive technology expertise

Mei Dent has an outstanding track record as an executive with extensive technology expertise in the software and IT industry. She began her career as a software developer at IBM. She then spent nearly 25 years in various leadership roles focused on product and technology at Canadian enterprise software vendor Open Text. As VP R&D at Open Text, she successfully pioneered the company's first multi-tenant SaaS product, developing a key element of Open Text's cloud offering. As part of the senior leadership team of the company's software development organization, she was also responsible for global software development standards and processes in the areas of security, user experience, performance and shared services.

Master in Computer Science Western University Ontario

Most recently, she was CTO at Doxim, a provider of customer communication management software. Here, Dent supported the company's growth by scaling the entire technology organization. She was also responsible for the full lifecycle of platform development and product integrations related to Doxim's acquisitions. Mei Dent holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Western University in Ontario. She will be based in Göppingen.

Current CTO and CPO to leave at the end of 2023

Dr. Mike Eissele, TeamViewer's current CTO, and Dr. Hendrik Witt, TeamViewer's current CPO, will leave the company at the end of 2023 after a transition period and comprehensive handover to Mei Dent. Both will remain available to TeamViewer after this time with their extensive knowledge to support the company as needed.
