Baumüller manufactures face shields for Nuremberg hospital
Baumüller Services, a subsidiary of the Nuremberg-based Baumüller Group, is responding to the current challenges by converting part of its production to the manufacture of face shields.
Baumüller Services is a service provider in the field of electrical machines and systems. The company is primarily a specialist in the commissioning and installation, as well as the maintenance or modernization of electrical machines and systems. The company's new area of expertise is the production of face shields. These can be used as a supplementary protective measure against Covid-19 and prevent direct droplet infection, making them particularly popular in the medical sector.
The shields are produced on the company's own 3D printers. By producing face shields, the company wants to make a contribution to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. "We see it as our duty to protect at-risk groups such as doctors and nursing staff. These people are on the front line and deserve our support," says Andreas Baumüller, Managing Partner of the Baumüller Group. One hundred of these face shields were handed over to the Martha-Maria hospital in Nuremberg, which is just a few minutes' drive from the company headquarters. as
