Bluhm at the Fachpack

Where is the labeling journey going?

The new patented Markoprint Ultimate Twin print head with HP cartridge technology is one of Bluhm's highlights at Fachpack. Also on show: Inkjet systems for integration into production systems and labeling solutions.

The new patented Markoprint Ultimate Twin print head from Bluhm with HP cartridge technology is an inkjet printing system that covers applications that were previously impossible to realize. Ultimate Twin prints up to 25 millimeters high and has protection class IP65. This makes it suitable for applications in damp and dusty environments, such as in the wood or food industry. The manufacturer also emphasizes that the print head does not need to be covered or dismantled when cleaning the system. It closes when not in use and the nozzle plate is automatically cleaned each time it is closed and opened.

It is therefore not necessary to remove the cartridges during long breaks, such as over the weekend. For the pharmaceutical industry or for integrated systems, this also means that the cartridges do not have to be removed in closed or difficult to access systems and during long breaks.

Markoprint Ultimate Twin print head is also the ideal system for UV inks, which are used for printing on very smooth surfaces. The UV light ensures that the ink hardens and dries in seconds and cannot run onto the smooth surface. Closing and cleaning the cartridge increases the open time of the UV ink. This prevents UV radiation from acting on the ink and curing it during printing breaks. Additional breaks to clean the cartridges are not necessary.

Markoprint product line for system integrators
With the new Markoprint Integra series, Bluhm presents inkjet systems for integration into production systems. The new product line starts with the Markoprint Integra One printing system and the Markoprint Integra Quadro. The new Markoprint Integra One inkjet printer with HP cartridge technology has been specially developed for integration into packaging systems, such as those found in the food sector, and prints up to 12.5 millimeters high. Settings can be made directly on site on the user-friendly display. The system achieves top speeds of more than 180 meters per minute and has an IP65 protection class.

The new compact Markoprint Integra Quadro control unit expands Integra One to a printing system with four print heads. The compact system can be installed directly on the system, in the system or in a control cabinet. Here too, the operator can make the settings directly on the control unit. It controls a maximum of four print heads. For different printing tasks, the control unit can also control two different print technologies - up to two print heads per print technology.

Flexible labeling, reduced set-up times
Another focus of Bluhm Systeme's stand presentation will be labeling solutions. The new Legi-Air 2050 Linerless label printing dispenser is a cost-effective system for labeling different small batch sizes. The integrated Sato CL4NX label printer processes label material without backing paper. The labels are printed with the required information and then automatically cut by a cutter immediately afterwards. The linerless technology allows labels to be produced in different lengths of up to 140 millimetres as required.

An applicator with a dispensing stamp picks up the finished labels and applies them to the stopped product. The stamp is designed in such a way that it can easily accommodate different label formats. It is therefore not necessary to replace the stamp when changing formats, meaning that no set-up times are required.

Tamper Evident labeler as a stand-alone solution
In addition to the existing Tamper Evident labeler for integration into complete systems, Bluhm is also presenting a Tamper Evident labeler as a stand-alone complete unit especially for the pharmaceutical industry. This allows folding boxes to be sealed with tamper-proof sealing labels. The unit includes a conveyor belt and control system. The system can flexibly process different label formats and achieves a high cycle output. The labeling system applies the sealing labels using the wipe-on method.

Labeling without compressed air
The company is also presenting a new version of the Legi-Air 6000 high-speed labeler for the mail order business. Whereas the previous system required compressed air to blow the label onto the product, the new Legi-Air 6000 does not need any compressed air at all. The applicator is operated servo-electrically and the labels are wiped on using the wipe-on method. In terms of cycle output, the Legi-Air 6000 Wipe-on is comparable to the previous system. This can apply up to 2,400 labels per hour. as
