Retrofitting packaging lines
Track & Trace in the narrows
Mediline T&T from Atlantic Zeiser is a compact track & trace system that can meet the requirements for serialization, labelling, tamper-evident, sealing and checkweighing in a very small space in a single work step.
The obligation to serialize pharmaceuticals is affecting more and more markets. The specific requirements for concrete products, target markets and the existing production environment vary greatly. This leads to many different constellations. In essence, the question arises: Where in the entire production process can serialization make the most sense?
The range of possibilities is vast. They range from applying the serialization codes when the offset sheets are printed to serializing filled folding cartons in an external shipping warehouse. In many cases, the most pragmatic solution is probably to carry out serialization close to the packaging lines. However, when it comes to the option of retrofitting existing packaging lines, the structural conditions are sometimes the limiting factor: an existing overall system can often not be extended at will. Production space is precious and scarce.
As a provider of serialization and track & trace solutions, Atlantic Zeiser is presenting the compact Mediline T&T, a track & trace system that can meet the requirements for serialization, labelling, tamper-evident, sealing and checkweighing in the smallest of spaces in a single, workflow-optimized work step. The checkweigher and tamper-evident labeler are integrated as required. The integrated interface to the Medtracker software allows filled folding cartons to be serialized reliably.
Innovative quick-change device
To enable users to quickly change over to different formats or coding requirements, there is an innovative quick-change device that allows the position of the camera and printing unit to be changed in just a few simple steps without the need for tools or additional components. The transport mechanism also ensures efficiency and safety: reproducible coding results can be achieved even with high throughputs of up to 400 packs per minute. According to the manufacturer, an inspection camera and sensors ensure safe ejection into a collection container, which can be emptied during operation.
The standard system can be optionally expanded to include a labeler, for example for vignettes or Bollini labels, as well as additional print heads and cameras, for example for applying helper codes, and can also be equipped with a checkweigher and tamper-evident labeler. as
