Electric bicycles are becoming increasingly popular - according to the Federal Statistical Office, the number in Germany has almost doubled in the last three years. The development of powerful and robust electric motors and precautions against tampering and counterfeiting are correspondingly important.

The requirements for marking, tampering and counterfeit protection solutions for Brose electric motors are high. Even after years of use in wind and weather, the labels must adhere reliably and be legible. "In addition to an attractive appearance over the entire service life, the labels must also be UV and weather-resistant and withstand mechanical stresses such as stone chipping," says Jens Klüdtke, Key Account Manager at Schreiner Protech.

Together with his team, he has developed three different solutions especially for these requirements: A label with a protective laminate makes the manufacturer's logo stand out and provides optimum protection against external influences. The second label is a type plate which, in addition to identification, also provides proof of originality by means of a complex and difficult to counterfeit checkerboard foil. In addition, a housing closure seal with security punchings on the e-bike motor reliably indicates any attempts at tampering.
