SVS-Vistek is expanding its range of industrial cameras with high-resolution USB3 cameras with a slim form factor. The company is introducing ten new models in the EXO camera series (exo342, exo367, exo387) with resolutions of 31, 19 and 17 megapixels, all based on the latest generation Pregius 2 CMOS sensors from Sony.

With large, square pixels with an edge length of 3.45 micrometres, these sensors are very light-sensitive and deliver a remarkable dynamic range. With their front plate cross-section of 58 x 58 millimetres, the new models perfectly cover sensor formats up to APS-C and Four-Thirds. Due to their pixel size, the CMOS sensors of the Pregius 2 generation can also be used with various lenses at high resolutions. For high resolutions, the EXO series offers variants with M42 mount as well as the MFT mount supported by SVS-Vistek for focusable lenses. This means that SVS-Vistek can offer its customers an optimum selection from a wide range of lenses for every task. Despite their high resolutions, the camera models enable frame rates of 11.5, 18.5 and 21.5 frames per second with a maximum USB3 bandwidth of 360 MB per second. The image transfer time is therefore correspondingly short and leaves enough time for subsequent image evaluation until the next production cycle or the next object. Even higher frame rates will be possible from the second quarter of 2019 in the HR series with the high-performance 10GigE and CoaXPress interfaces. pb
