IDS now offers the Ensenso X modular 3D camera system with 5 MP industrial cameras with an IMX264 CMOS sensor from Sony. They enable an extended field of view, higher resolution and lower noise.
The 3D camera system consists of a powerful 100 watt projector unit to which two industrial cameras can be mounted at variable distances. The range of applications extends from factory automation (bin picking) to warehouse and logistics automation (pallet picking). According to the manufacturer, innovations on the camera and software side will make the system more flexible and powerful.
Thanks to the larger field of view of the 5 MP version, the distance between the camera system and the object can now be reduced, for example: To completely capture a packed Euro pallet with a volume of 120 x 80 x 100 centimetres, only 1.25 meters are required instead of 1.5 meters. The Z-accuracy improves from 0.43 to 0.2 millimeters. IDS also points to an increase of up to 35 percent in lateral resolution with more than 30 percent less noise, so that details and depth information can be captured even more precisely. as
