This will enable the vacuum solutions provider to better meet customer needs while supporting strategic growth in the local coating and semiconductor markets.

"The expansion is part of our new growth strategy, which also includes a global investment program of 150 million euros," said Hugh Kelly, representing the Management Board. "As well as providing an after-sales service, the larger facility will now enable the manufacture of dry running pumps and our new ATC leak detection systems, as well as the assembly of pumping stations. With the introduction of industry-leading technologies, Pfeiffer Vacuum is even better equipped to respond to the needs of local customers."

At the 2019 Annual General Meeting, Pfeiffer Vacuum presented the company's eight strategic pillars. CEO Dr. Eric Taberlet emphasized the importance of the Chinese market for the company's development. As one of the most important cities in the Yangtze River Delta, Wuxi has received strong government support to further develop its semiconductor, electronics and solar industries. The location not only strengthens Pfeiffer Vacuum's presence in China, but also brings the company closer to its customers in China and the wider Asian market.

Since entering the Chinese market in 2007, Pfeiffer Vacuum has grown steadily to over 150 employees locally, primarily due to the country's booming economy and strong market demand for scientific and high-precision vacuum technology. As the inventor of the turbopump, Pfeiffer Vacuum has been investing in research and development for almost 130 years in order to offer customers and the industry innovative solutions and products. To support the vacuum industry in China, Pfeiffer Vacuum works closely with top local companies, scientific research institutions and other industry partners who bring exciting products and in-depth expertise.
