Andreas Mühlbauer,

For use in aggressive media

The new stainless steel cylinders in the CG5-X2977 series from SMC are specially designed for use in damp or aggressive environments. All external parts are made of stainless steel and are permanently resistant to attacks from acids, alkalis and aggressive cleaning agents.

The stainless steel housing is round and has a clean design throughout. With no corners or edges, the cylinder can be cleaned quickly and efficiently. The cylinders have a special wiper that prevents water from entering the housing. The range of new stainless steel cylinders includes eight versions with piston diameters ranging from 20 to 100 mm. The two smaller versions with 20 and 25 mm piston diameters provide strokes of up to 300 mm. Strokes of up to 600 mm are possible from a piston diameter of 32 mm. The maximum operating pressure is 1 MPa. Compressed air is used as the medium. End position damping is achieved with purely elastic damping disks.
