Endress+Hauser Flow Germany
Endress+Hauser integrates specialist for concentration measurements
Endress+Hauser completes the integration of SensAction AG: The company, which specializes in concentration measurements in liquids and is based in Coburg, Bavaria, is now trading as Endress+Hauser Flow Deutschland AG. Products and technology expand Endress+Hauser's range for measuring and analyzing quality parameters.
SensAction was founded in 2008 and has been part of the Endress+Hauser Group since 2017. The wholly owned subsidiary of Endress+Hauser Flowtec AG, based in Reinach (Switzerland), will now be fully integrated into the Group. "We have been growing together with Endress+Hauser for years - in joint technology development as well as direct sales via our Sales Centers. Our new company name and the adapted corporate identity now make this visible," says CEO Stefan Rothballer.
The devices for measuring concentrations in liquids use surface acoustic waves (SAW), a form of ultrasound. This technology can be used in all Endress+Hauser target markets, for example in the food industry to determine the sugar content of mixed drinks such as soft drinks. "Our devices measure concentrations in real time during the ongoing process - precisely and reliably. This makes the detour via the laboratory superfluous," explains Michael Münch, Chief Production, Development and Quality Officer.
Information about product quality
This makes the measuring devices from Coburg in Bavaria a perfect fit for Endress+Hauser's strategy. "Our customers don't just want to record physical process variables, they also want direct information about product quality," emphasizes Dr. Mirko Lehmann, CEO of Endress+Hauser Flowtec AG. "Our goal is to be the market leader in ultrasonic flow technology in combination with quality measurements."
Work is also underway on the integration of SAW technology for an expanded Endress+Hauser product range. "By combining quality and flow measurement, we can provide our customers with information for process optimization. We also want to use Industry 4.0 solutions to help our customers increase efficiency and quality," adds Michael Kaiser, Head of Ultrasonics and IIoT Solutions.
Endress+Hauser Flow Deutschland AG employs around 20 people in Coburg. The competence center for SAW not only develops and manufactures measurement technology, but also supports customers with the necessary application knowledge. The company also gathers know-how in the field of modeling and signal processing for ultrasonic applications. The specialists are part of the SAW scientific community, work closely with universities and are involved in specialist associations.
