New business structure
Yaskawa Europe with Environmental Energy Division
With the start of the new 2018 financial year, the global Yaskawa Group is operationally integrating its activities in the energy and marine sectors into Yaskawa Europe. The additional Environmental Energy division thus complements the existing Drives Motion Controls and Robotics divisions.
With the new divisional structure since the beginning of March, Yaskawa continues to drive forward the implementation of its global corporate goals "Vision 2025". Alongside Mechatronics and Humatronics, Clean Power is the focus of Yaskawa's medium and long-term positioning. According to the company, the restructuring that has now been completed is a step in the future-oriented expansion of its existing business activities.
The Environmental Energy Division (EED) comprises the global activities of Yaskawa's Finnish subsidiary The Switch, which is based in Helsinki and has production facilities in Finland, Norway and China. With the integration of The Switch into the EED of the Yaskawa Europe Group, the aim is to bundle the activities and at the same time integrate all three divisions into Yaskawa's medium and long-term strategy and make better use of existing infrastructures.
Today, EED has three business segments: Wind, Marine and Industrial Turbo Applications. The wind business segment is dedicated to the supply of wind generators and associated converters. In the marine business, EED is involved in equipping hybrid and all-electric ship propulsion systems. The Turbo/Industry division focuses on the customer-specific adaptation of turbo drives for high-speed pumps and compressors. as
