Universal Robots with e-Series in Hanover
The Danish manufacturer Universal Robots (UR) is presenting flexible automation solutions for companies of all sizes at the Hannover Messe. For the first time in Hanover: the manufacturer's e-Series.
The user-friendly, versatile and cost-effective robot arms from UR are designed to pave the way for semi-automated production not only for industrial groups, but also for small and medium-sized companies. Using practical examples, visitors can find out how industrial production processes can be designed with the help of UR arms and individually adapted to the needs of customers and employees.
Latest generation of robots with improved functions
UR's exhibition stand is divided into four areas: machine tending, assembly, packaging and palletizing, and materials processing. The focus will be on UR's e-Series, which will be presented for the first time at the Hannover Messe in 2019. The latest generation of robots from UR is certified by TÜV Nord in accordance with ISO 10218-1. Its safety functions are classified as category 3 PLd in accordance with ISO 13849-1. It therefore meets the latest ISO safety standards and impresses with an even greater variety of applications and simpler programming. An integrated force/torque sensor and a redesigned user interface are intended to enable more precise and intuitive operation.
Visitors can experience the challenges that can be overcome with UR robots in demonstrations. In the "flashlight application", for example, three UR3e robot arms work together and present guests with a flashlight engraved on site. In 3D Bin Picking, on the other hand, the supreme discipline of robotics, a robot equipped with an image processing system removes objects from a container in which they are lying in disorder.
UR Academy training concept to be expanded
"With the help of our robots, we want to make automation solutions accessible to as many companies as possible," explains Helmut Schmid, General Manager Western Europe and Managing Director of Universal Robots (Germany). "To enable even inexperienced users to program our robots independently, we have created a virtual classroom with the Universal Robots Academy. We want to expand this concept even further and will also be presenting an innovation in this area at the Hannover Messe." as
