Universal Robots and Robolink robots have a 5-fold larger operating radius thanks to a new complete solution from Igus.

To enable a robot to move over several meters, Igus now offers a ready-to-connect 7th axis. The new complete system consists of a maintenance-free Drylin ZLW toothed belt axis with corresponding adapter plate, control cabinet, cables and software integration. The manufacturer has developed two adapter kits for robolink and UR robots for easy integration of the axis and therefore the robot. They ensure fast and, above all, cost-effective low-cost automation.

The solution is specially designed for linear adjustment. A lubrication-free, lightweight and flat axis with a stroke of up to 6 meters and a positioning accuracy of 0.5 millimetres has been added to the Drylin linear construction kit. The axis is available as a complete solution in versions for Universal Robots UR3, UR5 and UR10 as well as Robolink DP and DCi robots.

With the new complete systems, the customer receives an adapter plate for easy attachment of the robot and the energy chain to the axis, as well as the corresponding integration solution, i.e. the control cabinet with cables, motor controller and the respective software solution. If the user uses a Robolink robot, the 7th axis can be controlled via the Igus Robot Control software. For UR robots, there is a UR-CAP as a direct integration solution including all the necessary electrical assemblies. dsc
