Plug-and-produce solutions

Plug in and off you go

At the Hannover Messe, Universal Robots (UR) will be using application examples to demonstrate how simple and flexible automation solutions can be implemented using plug-and-produce.

The UR product family: UR3, UR5 and UR10. (Image: UR)

Most of the accessories for the applications come from the Universal Robots+ online ecosystem. It provides access to grippers, sensors, software and other accessories, all of which can be implemented via plug-and-play. Universal Robots shows three UR3 robots working together to screw together flashlights, insert a battery and then label the flashlights using a laser. In another application with a UR5 and an ATI force-torque sensor, visitors can see the robot's "perceptive ability" for themselves: the robot arm moves along a line on a plate with a highly corrugated surface. This can be moved by the visitor and the robot continues to follow the specified contour along the uneven structure - an important prerequisite for bonding processes or deburring, for example. New additions to the UR+ range are a plug-and-produce camera from Sensopart and an electric gripper from Dahl specially designed for collaborative applications. as
