New Motoman lifts up to six kilos

Two new, compact Scara robots complement the Motoman portfolio from Yaskawa: The robust new developments Motoman SG400 and Motoman SG650 are designed for payloads of up to three or six kilograms.

The new robots cover a working range of 400 or 650 millimeters. This makes them particularly suitable for applications that require both high speeds and high precision. Their repeat accuracy is 0.01 millimeters. Typical areas of application are, for example, assembly processes for very small parts or robot-based picking and packing, dosing and feeding in the manufacturing industry as well as in the food, medical products and cosmetics industries.

Low interference contours reduce the risk of collision and allow the robots to be operated in the tightest of spaces. The internal media routing is designed to ensure reliable workflows and reduce maintenance requirements.

The four-axis robots are controlled by the Motoman YRC1000micro controller. The controller's performance and functions have been specially optimized for pick & place and handling applications. In addition to the usual functionalities, the YRC1000micro offers simple connection options for external hardware as well as extremely fast and highly accurate motion controllers. It is also compatible with an optional functional safety function, which can be used to safely monitor and limit the working range and speed. as
