Scara family from Yamaha
New arms for the Scara
Yamaha is expanding its Scara family: the available arm lengths now range from just 120 to 1,200 millimeters and the maximum payload from one to 50 kilograms to speed up pick & place, packing and unpacking tasks as well as mechanical assembly tasks.
The YK-XG and YK-TW Orbital Scara series incorporate new features for efficient movement and long-term accuracy. By placing the rotation axis directly on the reduction gearbox and using a specially developed hollow shaft motor, the beltless drive of the YK-XG robot enables fast rotation of the R-axis with large offset loads that would require a noticeable delay with conventional belt-driven robots. According to the manufacturer, the new models are characterized by a 45 percent higher speed of the X-Y axis and now reach 7.6 meters per second, a 35 percent higher angular speed of up to 2.3 meters per second and a 93 percent higher speed of the R axis of 1700 degrees/s. With magnetic position resolvers instead of optical encoders, the robots benefit from greater interference immunity. They improve their reliability by eliminating the effects of industrial contaminants such as dust or grease. as
