Usable measurement data
Networked through the spindle
The VSpin active robot spindle from MD Drucklufttechnik supplies measurement data during operation - indispensable for networked production in Industry 4.0.
The manufacturer offers the robot spindle in a basic and a Pro license. Both versions use the same basic unit. It consists of the actual spindle and the electronics that are permanently installed in it. As soon as the basic unit receives electrical power, it signals different operating states or faults either acoustically or visually.
The speed, in particular a critical drop in speed, as well as the running time of the robot spindle can be displayed via an app. In the Pro version, the spindle saves certain events for later evaluation in the simplest case. The spectrum of digital outputs ranges from speed, deflection and shutdown data to vibration warnings in the event of chatter marks on the component and service notifications. Optionally, the status of the robot spindle, milling cutter, components, burrs and the deburring process can be monitored in real time. If the robot receives this data via the analog or digital interface, it can react immediately to events such as a broken milling cutter, a changed component contour or an excessive burr with an emergency stop or a tool change. as
