Mobile Industrial Robots drives expansion forward

Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) has opened its first German office in Eschborn. Together with a team of ten, Sales Director Jörg Faber will manage and develop the DACH and Benelux markets from there.

The Danish robotics pioneer MiR is thus strengthening its presence in two important sales markets. The demand for efficient automation solutions for intralogistics is particularly high in Germany: with the new branch and a larger team, MiR wants to create proximity to its customers and further promote the use of autonomous mobile robots together with its partners.

"With its strong industry and high automation potential, the DACH and Benelux economic region is of great importance to us," explains Jörg Faber, Sales Director DACH & Benelux at Mobile Industrial Robots. "Our autonomous transport robots offer companies based here a cost-effective way to streamline their material flow. This allows companies to optimize their use of resources and develop effective strategies to combat current challenges such as high cost pressure or the shortage of skilled workers."

New concepts for intralogistics
Jörg Faber has been responsible for business development at the Danish robotics company in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Benelux countries since the beginning of September. Previously, he worked for various international companies in a managerial role and as Managing Director in Sales and Marketing. Most recently as Managing Director of Baumer. "We have noticed that there is a great need for intelligent and cost-efficient automation solutions - at the same time, a lot of educational work is still required," says Jörg Faber. "Increasingly networked production conditions also require a rethink of intralogistics processes. MiR technology offers an approach to meet these new requirements."

Strengthen exchange with customers and partners
The Eschborn location was chosen primarily due to its favorable transport connections and its location in the economically strong Rhine-Main region with Frankfurt as an international hub. The Benelux countries are also easy to reach from there. The German branch offers space for conferences and training sessions as well as an exhibition area for the robots. Technical training courses can now also be held there, which were previously only offered in Odense. "Thanks to the new office, we now have a much shorter line to our customers and partners," says Jörg Faber. "We are convinced that this will strengthen a constructive exchange with the companies."

With the opening of the new branch, MiR is taking the next step on its growth path of recent years. In 2018, the company doubled its annual turnover for the second year in a row. MiR is also expanding its workforce: 100 new employees will join the team worldwide this year. At the same time, the manufacturer is constantly developing its product and service portfolio, most recently with the launch of the autonomous mobile transport robot MiR1000 and the intelligent image processing system MiR AI Camera at the beginning of April. as
