Lightweight robot
Self-learning panda
The award-winning Panda robot from Voith Robotics is the first sensitive, self-learning lightweight robot that has the ability to assist humans and significantly increase production efficiency, according to the manufacturer.
The robot enables customers in various industries to optimize their production through a system provider approach that also includes customer-specific applications and process integration. However, the Panda is platform- and manufacturer-independent. This keeps integration costs for users to a minimum. The mobility of a Panda's arm is modeled on that of a human arm. The torque sensors in all seven axes enable the robot to manipulate objects skillfully. With a weight of 18 kilograms, the Panda has a payload of three kilograms and a maximum reach of 855 millimetres.
The slim controller can be mounted in server racks or elsewhere and connects the Panda to the cloud or existing local shop-floor networks. At the same time, the hand can grip quickly with a force of 70 Newtons and move at a speed of 30 millimeters per second. Voith Robotics offers a complete package and combines the Panda with applications in the form of modular programs that represent a sub-step of a specific task. Each app contains a context menu that guides the user interactively through the process parameters. as
