Born in Denmark, he brings global leadership skills coupled with a high-tech and commercial perspective. Povlsen will lead Universal Robots ' next phase of growth and innovation. Povlsen's appointment recognizes Teradyne's commitment to the robotics company's Danish roots while supporting the expansion and development of the local robotics community. Povlsen will assume his new role as President of Universal Robots on March 1, 2021.

"Povlsen combines a fantastic track record as a dynamic leader with relevant experience and a tremendous passion for robotics. With him on board, Universal Robots will be able to strengthen its leading position in the global collaborative robotics market. Under his leadership, we can accelerate growth in new applications and market volume for cobots."

Mr. Povlsen has held various senior business and technology leadership positions at Schneider Electric. Most recently, as Vice President Strategy & Technology, he was responsible for technology strategy and implementation. Povlsen holds a Master's degree in Computer Science & Embedded Engineering. "Universal Robots impressed me some time ago," emphasizes Povlsen. "For me, the company is a pioneer in terms of innovation and potential, and I was thrilled to be chosen for this unique leadership role."
