Robotics for the smart factory

Intelligent on the road

With this, the company shows how automation and handling tasks can be solved efficiently in a modular production system thanks to distributed intelligence.

The Pilz Smart Factory model is made up of a total of four modules that are networked together as an intelligent production line to manufacture personalized products. From sensors and drive technology to control and robotics, all components are from Pilz.

Smart robotics
The new service robotics modules with manipulator, control, operating and software module are part of the Pilz Smart Factory. As the robot controller, Pilz Motion Control (PMC) is the interface between the manipulator module, operating module and the controller: the drive controller PMCprimo MC takes over the motion management of the robot arm. A key feature of the service robotics modules is openness, for example thanks to the ROS software framework. This allows users to put together their own individual service robot application.

The company's service portfolio, which rounds off the range of solutions from risk assessment and safety concepts to CE marking, will also be on the agenda in Stuttgart. This also covers the drive sector and robotics in particular. Pilz supports users with its service portfolio tailored to the individual life phases of a robot system, right through to CE marking. A special training course on robot safety rounds off the range of services.

Managing robot forces safely
Also in the service portfolio at Motek: the innovative collision measurement set for the validation of HRC applications. This can be used to precisely determine the forces and pressures of robots.

Experts from Pilz show how the safety of HRC applications can be increased at any time through precise measurements. as
