Hahn takes over Rethink Robotics
German robotics specialist Hahn acquires Rethink Robotics to strengthen its market position in the field of collaborative robotics.
After it was announced at the beginning of October that Rethink Robotics had ceased its business activities due to insolvency, the Hahn Group acquired the Boston-based cobot provider. As part of the transaction, all patents and naming rights as well as the company's Intera5 software platform were acquired. This platform enables industrial robots to be programmed intuitively.
Until now, Hahn Group has been the German integrator of the Rethink cobot Sawyer. The robotics specialist plans to further develop Rethink's technology and to distribute the software under license to suitable partners.
With more than 30 years of experience in the production of robots and many hundreds of successfully implemented collaborative and conventional robot applications - from consulting and development to CE certification - Hahn is already one of the most successful companies for industrial automation and robot solutions. In addition to the integration business through Hahn Robotics and the rental business through Robshare, the Rethink Robotics unit is to become the third pillar within the Robotics Division, thus completing the Group's service portfolio. as
