More load capacity

Growth with the cobots

Universal Robots presented the new member of its cobot family at Motek: the UR16e. With a load capacity of 16 kilograms, the model complements the existing portfolio and is available worldwide.

The UR16e combines its load capacity with a reach of 900 millimetres and a repeat accuracy of plus/minus 0.05 millimetres. This makes it suitable for the automation of tasks involving heavy loads without a safety fence, for example in the areas of handling or machine loading.

A novelty on the cobot market
"In the uncertainty of the current economic climate, manufacturing companies need solutions that will keep them competitive for years to come," says Jürgen von Hollen, President of Universal Robots. "With the UR16e, we are now meeting the existing need for a collaborative robot that can reliably and efficiently perform tasks with high payloads. Applications of this kind have not yet been covered by the cobot market - so we are significantly expanding the range of applications for collaborative robotics in one fell swoop. Manufacturing companies now have one more opportunity to counter the shortage of skilled workers and other obstacles to growth."

This progress is made possible by the e-Series model range, which Universal Robots introduced last year. The UR16e was also developed on this basis. It has the same technology standard as the e-Series cobots UR3e, UR5e and UR10e. as
