Cobots in packaging technology
First customer for Kassow Robots
Kassow Robots has introduced its first system integrator partner, the Project Group. The medium-sized company based in Kranenburg on the Lower Rhine specializes in automation in the field of end-of-line packaging, its service and related peripheral areas.
"We are delighted to have gained the Project Group as the first system integrator for Kassow Robots at the beginning of this week," emphasize Kristian Kassow, CEO, and Dieter Pletscher, Head of Sales. "This shows us that the strength and flexibility of our seven-axis cobots also offer medium-sized companies completely new possibilities when it comes to human-machine collaboration."
Johannes Jansen, Managing Director of the Project Group, adds: "The cobots from Kassow Robots convince us in terms of flexibility and safety when we support our customers in the packaging industry with their automation challenges."
The fact that the collaborative robots - depending on a risk analysis - require little or no special safety requirements is also a plus for end customers. Jansen sees a wide range of possible applications for medium-sized companies: from pick & place and palletizing tasks as well as pallet labelling to the loading of production machines and use in the co-packing sector.
Kassow Robots will be presenting the KR 810 (with a reach of 850 millimetres/ ten kilograms payload), KR 1205 (with a reach of 1,200 millimetres/ five kilograms payload) and KR 1805 (with a reach of 1,800 millimetres/ five kilograms payload) cobots at Automatica. The first two models KR 810 and KR 1205 are now going into production. With the KR 1805 model, the Danish start-up has the next cobot ready for the end of 2018. as
