Cobot palletizer increases intralogistics efficiency
The efficiency of operational workflows can be significantly increased with autonomous intralogistics solutions. An expert in production logistics offers a new, customizable cobot palletizer for this purpose.
How can the internal flow of materials and goods be organized in times of scarce resources and rising production costs? Similar to many other operational areas, companies from almost all sectors can now address this issue with flexible automation.
The intralogistics workflow in small and medium-sized companies can also be sustainably secured by using collaborative robotics in the face of an escalating shortage of personnel.
Flexible cobot palletizing
Dahl Automation, based in Meinerzhagen in South Westphalia, has been an independent business unit of the United Robotics Group since 2023 with its corporate brand mR Mobile Robots and specializes in the cross-industry integration of turnkey automation systems for production logistics. With established AMR and AGV partners on the manufacturer side as well as mobile and flexible cobot palletizers developed in-house for payloads of up to 30 kg, the integrator covers the main automation requirements for internal transport processes by efficiently connecting production cells with the warehouse to create a universal material flow solution.
The integrator offers highly flexible and compact solutions for production logistics. In addition to its focus on driverless transport systems, the business unit of the United Robotics Group is presenting a new, CE-certified palletizing application with cobots. This is particularly designed for efficiency and safety and can be integrated into customer operations across all industries without fencing and without significant adaptation of the production layout.
With a compact design and two pallet spaces, mobile palletizing is actually a customizable modular system in which the robot used and the end-of-arm tool can be configured to suit the specific application. The range includes the three cobots UR10, UR20 and UR30 from Universal Robots for payloads from 12.5 to 30 kg. Customers can also choose from a broad portfolio of grippers and vacuum cups. To ensure maximum safety, each handling system is fitted with a sensitive bumper that interrupts the palletizer's operation at the slightest touch. However the customer chooses to combine their mobile palletizing based on the design by mR Mobile Robots' Technical Sales department, the end result is always an easy-to-commission solution that is ready for use in no time at all, allowing the user to fully automate unpleasant, stressful and time-consuming manual palletizing tasks.
Set up without programming knowledge
The intuitive navigation of the collaborative robots and the use of the software for freely creating packing patterns - including varying palletizing layers - is very simple. New tasks can be set up without any programming knowledge. This means that the compact palletizer can always be used exactly where it is needed in the factory with a comparatively small footprint. An intralogistics connection of the pallet storage locations via product-guiding conveyor belts or to a driverless transport system is of course provided for and can be easily implemented.
Higher productivity with driverless transport systems
As an independent production logistics provider and, by its own account, one of the largest AGV integrators in Germany, mR Mobile Robots has access to renowned platforms of autonomous transport robots. The company thus serves small-scale transportation at floor level as well as the storage of pallets on shelves. While a large selection of AMRs and AGVs is already available on the market, users who are now starting to automate their processes can quickly lose track of what they need when it comes to planning. The integrator therefore creates a suitable concept for individual devices or fleets with different purposes.
