Rethink Robotics has expanded its portfolio of gripper solutions for the Cobot Sawyer. One of the biggest challenges when using collaborative robots is changing the end effectors, which must be selected precisely for each application.

With Sawyer's Clicksmart technology, companies can use numerous tools from industry-leading third-party suppliers such as Schunk, Schmalz, Piab, Gimatic, Zimmer and Onrobot in addition to the Rethink Robotics gripper family and switch between end effectors without time-consuming reprogramming. At the heart of the technology is the Clicksmart gripper plate, whose integrated sensors automatically detect and save the configuration of the respective gripper. As soon as a gripper tool is attached to the robot arm, Sawyer recognizes the required configuration and knows how to operate the tool.

Thanks to the smart technology, the respective gripper solution can be controlled directly via Sawyer's Intera software platform. With the expansion of the gripper portfolio, Sawyer can be used for applications in various industries - from the packaging and logistics sector to electronics production, metal processing and the plastics industry - with just one "click" and without any significant downtime or changeover times. as
