Technical brushes for metallic surfaces
EMO shows the final touches
At EMO 2023, Kullen-Koti will be showcasing its wide range of tool brushes for the metal industry in Hall 11, Stand E72. The focus will be on brush systems for the various process stages of manual and machine processing of metallic surfaces.
Once again this year, Kullen-Koti's EMO stand is likely to be the point of contact for numerous machine manufacturers and metalworkers, all of whom are concerned with one central question: Which brushes can be used to deburr, derust, polish, oil, clean, roughen, structure, transport or remove static charge from metal surfaces? The company uses numerous exhibits to show how these various tasks - and many more - can be performed efficiently and economically with the right technical brushes.
Brushes for various machining processes
This year's exhibition program therefore includes, for example, round, brush, cup and disc brushes, which are suitable for processing burrs and edges of different hardnesses and sizes, as well as for smoothing and finishing sheet metal, plates or panels. Depending on the design, they are an ideal solution for removing rust from oxidized components. With the appropriate fill, round brushes can also be used for polishing metallic surfaces.
Also of great importance for metal processing are roller brushes, whose domain is the targeted roughening and structuring of surfaces, as well as plate brushes, which are ideal for conveying and transporting sensitive semi-finished products and sheet metal thanks to their gentle bristles.
Automatic or semi-manual
The supplier will also be showcasing a selection of special slat, strip and ostrich feather brushes that can be used to remove dust particles and static charge from metal surfaces. This is highly relevant in painting and coating processes, for example. The following applies to all brush systems on display: they are suitable for automated use in machines or with robots as well as for semi-automatic use with powered hand tools.
Trade fair highlight: effective delta brushes
Kullen-Koti is presenting the brush systems from its Delta line as a particularly innovative tool solution for processing metal edges and surfaces. These high-performance brushes are currently available in single disk and brush form and are regarded as a premium tool for high-precision deburring, derusting, descaling, rounding, matting and cleaning of shaped parts and components. What makes them special is that they consist of an elastic plastic compound interspersed with crimped steel wire. Only the tips of the wire protrude minimally from the polymer body and form a precisely defined effective area with a constant filament width. The Delta brushes are highly effective in terms of processing technology and have a long service life.
Trade fair theme: optimum design
With its portfolio of more than 150,000 different variants, Kullen-Koti offers an optimum brush solution for almost every metalworking scenario. However, an important criterion for their efficiency and economical use is always the application-specific design and configuration of the carrier element (brush body) and fill. In addition to material and surface conditions, kinematic and geometric aspects, process and media-related factors and the influencing factors of temperature and UV light must also be taken into account. There are also numerous other selection criteria due to the special requirements of different industries. For example, a metalworking company that produces stainless steel components for the food, pharmaceutical or medical technology industries has different requirements to consider when designing its tool brushes than a supplier that delivers molded parts made of light metals to customers in the aerospace industry.
