Trade fairs such as AMB or Hannover Messe offer foreign companies a broad platform to present their developments and technologies. This year, most of the industry get-togethers have been canceled. For this reason, the Taitra (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) has invited eight Taiwanese companies to an international online press conference to give them a platform for their developments.

Massive damage due to Covid-19

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused massive damage to the global manufacturing industry and has raised awareness of the importance of modernization and digitalization in many countries and companies, Taitra said. Taiwan's has set up 92 mask product lines in 40 days during the corona pandemic and increased mask production from 1.88 million pieces to 17 million pieces per day. This was made possible by the quick response and flexible management of the Taiwanese industry, according to Taiwanese industry representatives.

Eight companies with new products

The Taiwan Excellence 2020 award was also presented during the press conference. Eight companies presented their award-winning products.

Hiwin received the award for its Datorker gearbox system, which is characterized by its high torsional rigidity and low starting torque. It is used in robots, automation systems and machine tools, among other things.

Feeler (FFG) presented its U-800 5-axis machining center. The traverse paths are 800 mm (X-axis), 935 mm (Y-axis) and 640 mm (Z-axis), the traverse speed is 48 m/min in all axes and the maximum spindle speed is specified as 12,000 rpm. The machine tool can be connected to the cloud and provides various information on capacity utilization and production processes, among other things.

The 3D vision technology AccuPick 3D from Solomon enables robots to "reach into the box". The system covers a pick-up area of 2 m x 2 m and is compatible with robots from major manufacturers.

Manford cites high speed and accuracy as important features of the VU-620 5-axis machining center, which has a travel range (X/Y/Z) of 620 mm/52 mm/460 mm. The machining table has a diameter of 650 mm and a load capacity of 250 kg.

The award went to the press with GTX servo drive from Chin Fong. According to the company, its features include a freely adjustable forming curve and high productivity.

The CTS-100 is the name of the hydrostatic cylindrical grinding machine from Grintimate. It can be automated with robots on request.

Industry 4.0 is also a top priority at Tongtai. As part of its Flexible Manufacturing System, the company focuses on integrating production data and entering information into the customer's ERP system.

Hartrol Premium is the name of the controller from Hartford. With its remote management system, machine operators can also check the machine status and make settings outside of the production facility. An intuitive HMI ensures greater user-friendliness.
