Drill bits from Ingersoll

Andrea Gillhuber,

Now also for deeper drilling

Ingersoll Werkzeuge has expanded its Spade Twist drill line: In addition to the existing 3×D and 5×D holders, an additional holder dimension of 8×D is now available. This means that the tools are now also suitable for deeper drilling operations.

The company also relies on the proven design for the new drills. In addition, different drill head geometries are available for through holes and also for blind holes with a flat base. An asymmetrically designed interface and the self-centring geometry ensure error-free mounting of the drill head directly on the machine. This also increases tool and change accuracy. The drill shank has an internal coolant supply and twisted clamping grooves, which, according to the company, enables reliable chip removal.

The spade twist drills are available as standard tools in the diameter range 20 to 41 mm in 0.5 mm increments. Semi-standard tools are also available on request.
