The latest generation of the Planet V machine series takes double face grinding, also known as disc grinding, to a new level. In addition to tilt navigation and visualization of the grinding process, the main focus is on SDC (Smart Dressing Cycle) with cost savings of up to 40% compared to conventional systems. The very rigid machine bed enables the grinding of steel, sintered metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, ceramic and glass. Depending on the tool configuration and material, removal rates of over 1 mm are achieved with cycle times of well under one second thanks to two powerful motors. The workpiece is machined with an average tolerance of ± 0.003 mm in just one pass. In addition to throughfeed grinding, the Planet V series also offers other process options. Pendulum grinding can prevent a further fine grinding process in some applications. Another process type is multiple throughfeed grinding, in which the components are passed through the grinding gap several times. As a solution provider, Supfina also advises interested parties and customers on their individual challenges and validates quality parameters.
