Multiple tools with guaranteed delivery time

When drilling, multiple tools with drilling, milling and countersinking functions offer significant productivity benefits. They ensure shorter cutting times and eliminate the need to change tools. The quality of the components is also improved in terms of concentricity. Ceratizit's Cutting Tools team proves that these semi-standard tools do not have to be expensive or have long lead times.

According to the company, customers can now specify multiple tools based on the KUB, KUB Quatron and KUB Trigon drilling systems with a guaranteed delivery time of three weeks, at the price level of standard drills. In the event that delivery does not take place within 15 working days of receipt of the confirmed order (plus 1 day for delivery), the customer will receive the tool free of charge, the manufacturer continues. The entire development and production process has been streamlined to ensure that this delivery time can be maintained: Within four days, Ceratizit prepares an initial quotation with an approval drawing for the respective customer application. If the customer accepts the quotation and places a binding order, the tool goes into production immediately. The tools are available in various configurations and diameters and can be provided on different shafts, for example ABS and HSK systems.

To obtain a quote for a semi-standard tool, interested parties provide their personal Ceratizit sales advisor with a drawing showing the details of the component to be machined. The expert from the Cutting Tools team will then prepare a quotation for a tool solution that can be delivered to the customer within three working weeks at the price of a standard drill.

"Cutting tools should shorten cycle times wherever possible. This goal is most effectively achieved with multiple tools. However, the associated costs and lead times are a significant hurdle for small and medium-sized companies," says Claude Sun, Managing Director at Ceratizit Germany. "The 'Semi-Standard Solid Drilling' tool range solves both problems and helps our customers to stay one step ahead of their competitors. The guarantee that delivery will be made within three working weeks or that the customer will receive the tool free of charge is a win-win situation."
