Micromachining center

Magazine provides space for a maximum of 200 tools

In machining production, tool magazines are actually always too small; some customers often want to use larger magazines for the tools than those available as standard. This is an aspect that Zorn Maschinenbau considered right from the start when designing the microone 5-axis machining center.

It is possible to design the available space on the machine for tool magazines with 40 tool holders without great effort and without requiring more space. WZ40 is the solution for 40 tool holders, a solution that can even be extended to 200 tool positions.

An extended X-axis uses a second slide. The standard tool changer and magazine plate are omitted; instead, the tool magazine in the basic configuration on the X-axis offers space for an old and a new tool. These tools are exchanged parallel to machining in the rear area. Quick-change adapters and tool management ensure smooth operation during the machining process.

Access to the tools is possible via the side door on the machine during operation.

A standard magazine holds either six or nine ISO10 tools or 12 tools with direct clamping. The type of tool holder depends on various factors and can be freely selected.
