Tool data management

Interaction between process planning and store floor

Spring is starting the new trade fair year with an exhibition stand and live demos at Metav in Düsseldorf. The international trade fair for metalworking technologies takes place from February 20 to 24, 2018 and covers the entire spectrum of production technology for the metalworking industries, clearly structured according to focal points and topic areas.

Tool management NCSimul Tool

The manufacturer will be demonstrating to trade visitors how NCSimul Solutions can be used to implement a fully integrated process from the CAM system to the first flying chip on the machine: The machine simulation checks the NC code after the post-processor run, generates collision-free programs and simultaneously optimizes the tool paths. With the help of the latest, multi-award-winning NCSimul 4CAM module, CAM and NC programs can be automatically converted to different machine types and controls, including NC simulation and optimization, which enables fast and flexible machine changes with just a few clicks, according to the manufacturer.

The digital tool management system NCSimul Tool is the focus of the trade fair presentation. Based on a consistent and bidirectional data concept, it enables the integration of tools into the global production process and the optimization of the tool inventory, according to the manufacturer. In practice, up to 45 percent of the time required for tool preparation can be saved, according to the company. Integrated interfaces ensure the connection to CAM systems, management and planning systems, barcode and chip systems as well as tool presetters and automatic storage systems. sw
