New factory building in Aldingen
Hommel+Keller invests over 6 million euros
With an investment volume of more than 6 million euros, Hommel+Keller Präzisionswerkzeuge is investing in the Aldingen site and is building a new company headquarters with expanded production space due to capacity bottlenecks. In doing so, the manufacturer of knurling tools is also creating space for new jobs and is once again making a clear commitment to the region.
The company's history begins in 1926 with the takeover of Messwerkzeuge Aldingen and its approximately 20 employees. Over the following nine decades, Hommel+Keller Präzisionswerkzeuge developed into a global manufacturer of knurling and marking technology. According to the company itself, the tools are particularly impressive in large-scale production all over the world. Two further product divisions - smoothing tools and gear cutting technology - expand the portfolio and set the course for further growth. Today, Hommel+Keller has almost 60 employees, machinery of the highest technical standard and a dealer network in over 50 countries.
Sigmund Grimm, Managing Director of Hommel+Keller Präzisionswerkzeuge: "We are on course for growth and are now reaching the point where we need larger capacities due to increasing demand, as we are literally bursting at the seams. In addition, the organizational division of the Hommel+Keller group of companies is now being followed by the spatial separation of the companies." In 2017, the then shareholders Sigmund Grimm and Peter Keller decided on a new strategic direction. The two product divisions "Precision Tools" and "Coating and Hardening" had previously operated together under the Hommel+Keller Group, but had developed into independent business divisions over the decades. The separation under company law was therefore the next logical step to set the course for future growth.

Hommel+Keller Präzisionswerkzeuge has successfully overcome the bureaucratic hurdles for the new building. The plans for the buildings are ready, the financing has been clarified and the permits have been issued. Earthworks have now begun and the move from Brunnenstrasse to Nagelsee is scheduled to take place in March 2020.
In the new plant, 2,000m2 are planned for production and storage and another 1,000m2 for administration - doubling the current building space. An expanded development center and spacious communication and meeting areas for employees round off the project perfectly. "We are not only increasing our spatial capacity, but also creating new jobs from January 2020," adds Sigmund Grimm. The tool experts have also thought about a reserve for future expansions: with a plot size of 8,900m2, there is still open space that can be used to further double capacity.
