With a new record number of visitors and more exhibitors than ever before, this year's AMB in Stuttgart has grown significantly. Okuma, represented at the stand of German dealer Hommel CNC-Technik, was also able to demonstrate growth at the trade fair. This is because the machining expert's portfolio was expanded by another product with the German premiere of the Genos M460V-5AX. With the new machine, the manufacturer now offers an affordable yet extremely precise manufacturing solution that not only allows flexible multitasking, but also enables high productivity. With a high-speed spindle that achieves up to 15,000 rpm and a high traversing speed of 40 m/min in the X and Y axes and 32 m/min on the Z axis, the machining center enables short cycle times. At the same time, the machine has a small footprint.

Intelligent Technology and Premium Solutions

In the machining center, a range of intelligent technology applications ensure high productivity with precise dimensional accuracy. The Thermo-Friendly Concept, for example, increases production precision by compensating for deformations that occur due to temperature fluctuations. At the same time, it reduces warm-up times and thus increases the machine's productivity. The Premium Solution Hyper-Surface also aims to increase both productivity and precision. The application achieves this through the automated optimization of NC data. According to the company, this eliminates errors and deviations in the machining data, which enables fast spindle movements, produces a better surface quality and also eliminates the need for manual reworking.
