On August 1, the machine tool specialist EMAG will take over Scherer Feinbau, a manufacturer of CNC vertical lathes and vertical shaft lathes. On July 21, Chiron announced that the company was up for sale.

Scherer Feinbau's expertise in the field of brake disk machining is likely to have been a decisive factor in the purchase for EMAG. Markus Heßbrüggen, CEO of the EMAG Group: "In recent years, Scherer has developed robust solutions for this application, which will continue to be of great importance for the automotive industry in the future - across all drive types. We expect this experience to provide us with new market and development impetus."

In future, Scherer's CNC vertical turning machines will be distributed worldwide by EMAG. Scherer customers will also have access to EMAG's worldwide service network.
