Three-finger gripper from OnRobot
Three fingers for heavy objects
OnRobot is launching its first three-finger gripper on the market: the electric 3FG15 is an alternative to conventional, pneumatically operated three-finger grippers. It can flexibly handle objects of different shapes and sizes and is therefore suitable for machine loading with heavy parts.
With its three fingers, the 3FG15 can handle cylindrical parts, which was previously considered difficult to automate. It is considered uncomplicated to program and integrate, and the gripper also has a maximum clamping width of 150 millimetres and can therefore grip a wide range of workpieces of different sizes. Thanks to its load capacity of 15 kilograms, the 3FG15 can also reliably lift and hold heavier parts. It can also grip with both positive and non-positive locking, which further expands its range of applications.
The electric three-finger gripper enables flexible handling of cylindrical objects.
The 3FG15 is specially designed for machine loading. With a gripping force of 20 to 240 newtons, it automatically centers the gripped workpiece, ensuring a strong, stable grip and precise placement in the machine chuck. The gripper is also suitable for packaging and palletizing tasks. Thanks to OnRobot's One System Solution, which enables standardized mechanical interfaces between the robot arms of all common manufacturers and OnRobot's end-of-arm tooling, the 3FG15 is also compatible with the robot arms of numerous manufacturers.
"We developed the electric 3FG15 to offer users a flexible, space-saving alternative to the pneumatic three-finger grippers currently available on the market," explains OnRobot CEO Enrico Krog Iversen. "Having been active on the market for some time with our two-finger grippers RG2 and RG6, we want to open up additional fields of application and address further market segments with the new gripper. Users can now implement applications even faster, even when it comes to high-precision feeding tasks." as
