Automation of production lines

New stacking/destacking unit from cts

For stacking or destacking small load carriers and other transport containers, cts offers a new, flexible stacker/destacker unit.

The unit can be integrated into any conveyor system without any additional control technology. Alternatively, it is also available as a ready-made package unit on a conveyor system as a plug-on module for production cells or lines.

Destacking and separating empty KLTs or other trays at the start of the line, or stacking boxes that are no longer required or loaded with intermediate or end products, costs time and takes up space on the production lines. If these processes are automated, containers can be delivered and temporarily stored in a space-saving manner and are optimally prepared for further transportation at the end of a production step.

Even the standard version of the stacker/destacker can be used immediately in a wide range of environments, including electrostatically sensitive electronics production, either fully integrated or as a plug-on module.

Flexibility in use and configuration

The unit processes a variety of formats such as standardized trays measuring 600 × 400 or 400 × 300 millimetres as well as special formats up to a size of 800 x 600 millimetres. The standard version has a stacking height of up to 1,200 millimetres. Customized solutions can be implemented for special applications. The speed depends on the containers to be processed and is between 1 and 3 trays per minute in the standard range. The maximum weight of the trays to be processed varies depending on the tray stability and the required safety technology.

The stacker/destacker unit can be integrated into a wide variety of conveyor environments without the need for special control software. It can be integrated into existing infrastructures and machines via defined interfaces. The simple and space-saving design enables rapid expansion with additional units connected in parallel.

For use in electronics production, cts offers an ESD version. Other areas of application include consumer products, food and pharmaceuticals. Based on cts' own middleware AIV-Framework, connections to autonomous, intelligent transport systems (AIV/AMR) can also be implemented quickly and easily.
