Vacuum handling systems
Ergonomic under load
Online retail is booming. Manufacturers, retailers and logistics service providers need to optimize their processes accordingly. In order to become more efficient and protect the health of employees, it is worth investing in ergonomic lifting equipment.
In both intra- and distribution logistics, companies have to move large quantities of goods quickly and accurately. The handling process usually focuses on lifting, turning and carrying. Schmalz has developed the JumboFlex vacuum tube lifter for the dynamic handling of smaller workpieces weighing up to 50 kilograms. The user moves the load with just one hand - regardless of dexterity. Lifting, lowering and releasing are controlled with just one finger.
The operator can change the required suction pads easily and without tools using the quick-change adapter integrated as standard. There is a choice of round suction pads especially for cartons and plastic bags as well as double and quadruple suction pads for open, clamped or glued or larger flat workpieces. A more universal solution for various carton sizes and qualities is the multiple suction pad.
A special feature is the loading of pallets. With conventional lifting aids, the maximum stacking height is usually reached at 1.70 meters. To make this process more ergonomic, Schmalz has developed the JumboFlex High-Stack version, which is also suitable for workpieces weighing up to 50 kilograms. The up and down movement is also controlled with just one hand. With the second hand, the operator guides the vacuum tube lifter on an additional guide bracket. This allows him to ergonomically reach a maximum height of 2.55 meters.
If the task requires the handling of larger and heavier loads, Schmalz uses the JumboErgo vacuum tube lifter series. Based on a modular system, the operator can individually adjust the suction power, lifting height and operating element. For example, the correct operating handle length ensures a sufficient safety distance between the operator and the load. The main difference between the JumboFlex and JumboErgo lies in the form and function of their operating elements. Instead of using one hand, the user operates the JumboErgo with both hands - so he always has full control over the heavy objects. This is because the JumboErgo enables loads of up to 300 kilograms to be lifted ergonomically. A twist grip - similar to a motorcycle throttle grip - is used to lift, lower and release the load.
With increasing networking in industry, the demand for digitalized solutions for manual processes in logistics is also growing. Intelligent handling devices are one way of making increasingly complex handling manageable. With the SRCB collaborative rope balancer, Schmalz has developed a lifting aid equipped with additional sensors and motors for the digital production environment. The electric rope balancer follows the user's movement impulses. By automatically recognizing the connected gripper, the SRCB can follow approved movement patterns accordingly. It also observes programmed work areas. This prevents errors and increases safety in the process. as
