Rotary gripper

Short and compact

Afag Automation is expanding its product range with the DG 20 rotary gripper. The DG 20 is suitable for demanding pneumatic gripping and turning tasks involving small parts. As the shortest rotary gripper in its performance class, it aims to impress with its precise jaw guidance.

It is designed for a maximum mass moment of inertia of 3.5 kilograms per square centimetre. The DG 20 rotary gripper consists of a rotary drive and a rotatable gripper head. There are pneumatic connections on four sides of the base body, which the user can select as required. The gripper can be installed both vertically and horizontally. The rotation angle of the precision mechanical device is 180 degrees as standard.

For applications where only a quarter turn is required, the DG 20 can optionally be equipped with a fixed stop that limits the angle of rotation to 90 degrees. The jaw stroke is two times six millimetres and the clamping force is 50 newtons. The manufacturer has installed an air throttle for fine adjustments; this enables precise, sensitive control. Interfering cables and hoses can be routed away at the rear of the gripper. pb
