Quick-release clamping rings with a clamping lever are suitable as a guide element, spacer, mechanical stop or for aligning or fastening components. Compared to normal clamping rings, they have lower holding forces as the tightening torque cannot be set precisely. With Ruland clamping rings, designers benefit from the strictly controlled perpendicularity between the face and bore: the total deviation is only ≤ 0.05 millimetres or 0.002 inches. This property is particularly beneficial when clamping rings are used as a stop for bearings or for aligning components. To make assembly easier, the corresponding work surface is characterized by one or two circular grooves.

Ruland's clamping rings are available in high-strength aluminum 3.1355, lead-free 1.0736 steel with a proprietary black finish and in stainless steel 1.4305 or 1.4401/1.4404. Quick-release clamping rings with clamping levers are available in bore sizes from eleven to 40 millimetres (7/16 inch to 1-1/2 inch). The clamping rings are manufactured in the company's own factory near Boston, USA, under strict controls and using proprietary processes. The levers are sourced from JW Winco and have a stainless steel threaded pin (M4-M6), unlike standard screw clamps. All components of the quick-release clamping ring are RoHS3 and REACH compliant.

With the new product, Ruland now offers two quick-release versions: Clamping rings with clamping lever or with eccentric lever.
