New adapter: change suction cups faster
Schmalz has developed a new adapter for suction blocks: With the AP-S4, suction blocks from the VCBL-B series can now also be used on CNC processing machines with the TVN system from SCM/Morbidelli.
The adapter offers the same downward interface to the SCM-TVN console as the original equipment or the SCM vacuum cleaner series from Schmalz. This means that both original equipment vacuum cleaners and the Schmalz VCBL-S vacuum cleaner series and now also the combination of adapter and VCBL-B can be used. Mixed operation with original equipment and Schmalz products is also possible.
The AP-S4 accommodates the VCBL-B suction block at the top and can be rotated in 15-degree increments so that all suction cups can be positioned in different orientations. This gives the user significantly more options when designing the clamping layout - and allows them to use the entire clamping surface of their workpiece. The adapter can remain on the machine when changing the suction blocks: This reduces set-up times.
The suction cup can be fixed in place with magnets and a metal plate in the adapter before the vacuum is activated. If the cutter accidentally damages the suction cup, it can simply be replaced. Unlike the original, the user does not have to replace the entire assembly. It is sufficient to replace the damaged suction plate of the block suction cup. This reduces spare parts costs and minimizes downtime. as
