Networked vacuum

In addition to its product range for automation with vacuum, Schmalz is also focusing on its smart field devices. They provide transparent process and status data for the digital factory.

For example, the vacuum and pressure switch VSi, the compact terminal SCTMi IO-Link, the vacuum generator ECBPi and now also the X-Pump SXMPi can collect and interpret data and communicate via IO-Link up to the control level. The process data can also be displayed directly on a mobile device via an NFC (Near Field Communication) interface together with maintenance and service information.

With the Ethernet version of the SCTMi compact terminal, the vacuum expert also offers an alternative to the IO-Link version. Industrial Ethernet systems such as Profinet, Ethercat or Ethernet/IP are generally designed for high real-time capability and robustness in order to meet the requirements of industrial production. In contrast to field devices with IO-Link, field devices with Industrial Ethernet can communicate directly with the system controller - they do not require an intermediate element such as an IO-Link master. This simplifies the cabling of the systems and thus reduces the installation effort. as
