Modular gripped
One Screw System (TOS). The modular gripper system from automation specialist Tünkers is suitable in the TOS 002 double profile version for heavy and large components such as side panels and underbodies in automotive production.
The base frame of the system consists of an octagonal profile with a staggered hole pattern, which ensures a positive fit. The connections are based on Tünkers' standard round tube components to optimize costs and are friction-locked together. All components and elements are coordinated with each other and can be individually combined, the manufacturer promises. The system is designed to combine the advantages of positive locking in the base frame (level 1) with those of frictional locking in the gripper arms (level 2).
The variable screw connection concept makes it possible to fasten the connection clamps in the base frame to the octagonal base frame profile with just one screw. This allows users to benefit from a fast installation time. Assembly is also simple, as no blind rivet nuts are used and no special tools are required. To ensure a defined clamping situation, each screw connection is also provided with a fitting sleeve. The positioning of the clamps is optimally coordinated using an alternating hole pattern with a spacing of 30 millimetres per surface and a 15 millimetre offset to the nearest surface.
The modular TOS system from Tünkers with a total of 145 grippers is currently being used in the production of the Grandland X at the Opel plant in Eisenach. as
