Piab's vacuum-controlled end-of-arm tool (EOAT) Picobot is now available with a generic electrical interface and ISO 9409-1 mechanical mounting plate dimension options, so it can be configured to work with any collaborative robot and smaller industrial robots.
Originally certified for Universal Robots cobots, the company is extending its reach to the cobot market. Through an online configuration tool, customers can choose between a generic electrical interface with standard cable or a cable specified by Universal Robots. In addition, they can choose different mechanical interfaces and configure tools tailored to their requirements and applications. The tool consists of a vacuum pump and a gripper unit with suction cups. Picobot weighs only 720 grams including the gripper, but can lift objects weighing up to seven kilograms. as
